On November 30, 2025, in Minsk, at the “Uručchye” Sports Palace, the “Samurai” sports club held the open cup Samurai Open Cup 2025 in kyokushinkai. In one day, the prize sets in 56 categories were contested on four tatami — from the youngest 4–5 age group to the 35+ veterans.
According to the tournament report: 359 athletes, 470 participants, 12 teams, 56 categories and 4 tatami. The teams came from 9 cities, and the partner of the sports celebration was the Minsk functional training gym “Kosmos”.
The main stage of the day — the “Uručchye” hall with sectors A, B, C and D. The fights ran in parallel, and the large wall-mounted scoreboard showed the current category and indicated who was preparing to step onto the tatami.
Sector D: the scoreboard with the current category and the secretariat desk, where the electronic protocol ran.
Sector C: the wall-mounted scoreboard, the call of the participants and the work of the judges’ zone.
Sector B: the electronic scoreboard, the current category and the fights in the 12–13 age groups.
Sector A: the opening fights, the scoreboard and the cups, ready for the award ceremony.
The mat hosted both the first serious fights of the youngest competitors and the confident battles of the adults. Each sector had its own dynamic, and the hall supported the participants from the first category to the final meetings.
The chief referee of the tournament was Dmitri Alexandrovich Vorobey — the head of the “Samurai” sports club in Minsk, the chairman of the board of the “Samurai” children and youth sports club, branch chief IKO, 3 dan coach. The chief secretary was Tatiana Anatolyevna Pashuk.
The photo shows the judges’ panel during the competition: calm work on the tatami and the control of the order in the hall.
The moments of the fights and the ceremonies were filmed for social networks and sports communities.
For an accurate draw, stable timing and fast result management, the tournament used the Tournament Expert software. The system automatically built the kumite and the kata brackets, taking the weight and the age categories into account, and “split” the fighters from the same club or region across different parts of the bracket so that they would not meet in the early fights. The electronic secretariat and the digital scoreboards helped the referees keep the pace, while the participants and the coaches saw the order of the calls to the tatami in real time. The results and the bracket are available on the Tournament Expert portal.
In social networks, including vk.ru/karateminsk, Samurai Open Cup 2025 was called a real celebration of sport: the parents were happy with the medals, the teams — with their unity, and the coaches separately thanked the judges’ panel, including the young referees who confidently handled their categories.
Below — the results in 56 categories. The names and the coaches are taken from the official tournament protocol. Empty rows — categories for which the prize places were not recorded.
